Robotech Condar
This is that Robotech Condar model that I've been working on. I started more than a year ago (I think), and my various breaks from modeling have really taken toll on getting this one done. Just to recap, it was a started model I got on eBay. With blue paint on some of the parts. Yeah, blue... First are the old pictures.
I left off showing you the first coat of paint that I did. I think I mentioned something about the paint scheme, and how hard it was. Well, it's time to get to work on it.
Progress!
This is the start of the 'digital camouflage' pattern I've been working on. It's a bit tedious, and I tried coming up with a solution using a decal that I could just cover the model with, but the shape is to complex and I couldn't come up with something that would work. So it's down to little squares and rectangles all over it.

Some of the masking for the camo
So far, it's turning out pretty well. I think it has good potential. Here's a close up of the arms. You can see all the little pieces of tape that I've put on there. Cutting it up is easy, I just slice up a piece of tape on a little plate of glass and pick them up one at a time. Placing them isn't too tough, but I have to put hundreds of these things all over the model.
It takes quite a while to get the pattern on there, but I'm making progress. I'll soon be ready to put on the second coat, which will be a darker grey. A third coat will just be a few splotches here and there for a darker color. I'm hoping that it will give it a modern look.
YQM-98A Compass Cope-R
I'm also working on two other models right now, both of the same plane. The first is a vacuform model of the YQM-98A Compass Cope-R originally made by Teledyne Ryan. It was a demonstration UAV that flew in the early 1970s. The 1970s! It was another 25 years before there was a plane similar to what it could do.
If you are familiar with the Global Hawk, you can see several similarities. I'm pretty certain that the Global Hawk was developed from the 'R-Tern' (Ryan's name for the plane). I am often amazed at what technology we had so long ago, but couldn't find a use for.
But like I said, there are two models of the same plane, and the other model is a paper model that I'm developing. So far, I've made the 3D model and made the layout in Pepakura. Next, I need to do a test build and then make any changes necessary. After that, I'll need to make instructions. I may release a test version before the instructions are done though, so people can build it.
So far, it's turning out pretty well. I'll post some pictures of the test build online in the future, and I'll post a comparison of the two when I'm done with both.
Enterprise-A
Ok, I started working on this one for a bit a while ago and now I've stopped. There's too much detailing for me to want to deal with it. But I'm going to eventually finish this one, I promise!
I'll be using some free decals for the details, so it should speed up the process. Once I finally get back to it, that is.
Still not interested in finishing this one. Too much work for me right now. I will sooner or later though. Count on later.
Model stash
Here's the stash. Small by some standards. I had some more, but I sold them on eBay. I've tried to tailor my collection for now. I don't want to get so many models that I'll never finish them. I just want to have enough to keep me interested for a while.
